Paul writes to Timothy to “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” in 2 Timothy 2:15. Aiding those entering ministry, and even those that have served the Kingdom for some time, to better ““handle” the Word of Truth is central to our mission. We are certain the best way to reach an area is to equip the persons living there to serve well. They know the area, the people, and the culture.
Though the best way to reach a people for Christ is through empowering those that remain a part of the community, we still have a command from Christ to both teach and preach in Matthew 28:18-20 - And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” In each area that we travel for the purpose of education we also share the preached Good News of Jesus Christ. In this way we are trying in earnest to fulfill the Great Commission both making disciples, and teaching them.
Finally, many areas of the world (and even some areas in the US) lack resources and facilities to consistently make an impact for the Kingdom of God. Most “find a way” and many even serve faithfully in conditions that most would consider unacceptable. As we go into areas to minister we also want to identify churches that can serve as a “hub” to the surrounding communities in equipping the local people as ministers and lay leaders. Once identified, we will work with that church and pastor to make the facilities adequate to faithfully and consistently equip people. This includes areas such as independent (renewable) energy supply, water systems, facility repairs, and other areas as identified and needed.
